The Old Pecan Street Café first opened it's doors at 314 East 6th (Pecan) Street. This small structure was built around the turn of the century by Olive Brush the son of S.B. Brush who built the St. Charles Hotel next door. Over the years the previous tenants have been saloon keepers Chinese laundries barbers shoemakers saw filers and a drug store until 1972 when the Café became the latest occupant. Giovanni's Pizza Stand got its start a few years back working out of one of the 1st pizza trailers in Austin's ever expanding food trailer market.
