A Brief History of Urthâ?¦
Established in 1989, Urth Caffé is America's first exclusively organic coffee company.
To ensure compliance with its rigorous standards, the Urth Caffé is vertically integrated; controlling its purchasing, roasting, and distribution. We work directly with a limited number of sustainable coffee growers who produce the finest organically grown coffees available today. Urth Caffé also offers fine teas from its own selected tea sources, including our own tea garden (shown at right), that has been in the same family for six generations.
In 1994, we opened our first café located at 8565 Melrose Ave. in West Hollywood; in 1998 it was awarded the "#1 Coffee Restaurant in Los Angeles" by Los Angeles Magazine. Check out Urth In The News to see some of our other awards and acclamations.
An additional locations opened in Beverly Hills in 2003 and in Santa Monica in 2005.
The Urth Caffé sells all organic specialty coffees, coffee drinks, teas, coffee-making equipment, high-quality health conscious meals, and exquisite desserts in a casual atmosphere through its restaurant locations.
Our café locations offer a wide selection of healthy entrees, soups, organic salads, and sandwiches. We also fresh bake our own delicious desserts with choices ranging from the most decadent to low fat, and vegan selections.
