Introduction
The Swan at Hay is a privately owned hotel and restaurant in the Marches town of Hay-on-Wye where warm hospitality and good food await you. As a former coaching inn, the hotel is full of character from the original Georgian windows overlooking the garden, to the cobbled stable block to the rear.
Hay-on-Wye is the perfect place for a few days away. If you want a really relaxing break, then you need look no further than the shops. There will be something for everyone, from the world-famous bookshops to the exciting boutiques and markets
If you prefer a more active break, take advantage of The Swan's wonderful location, nestled between The Black Mountain and the Brecon Beacons. It is also moments away from The Wye Valley, an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. Rarely will you be spoilt for choice with such wonderful walks, all with breathtaking scenery. We work closely with several local activity companies that we would be happy to liaise with to help you get the most from your time away.
However you choose to spend your time in Hay, at the end of the day come back and relax at The Swan. With our delicious food and drink served throughout the day, The Swan at Hay is the perfect place to stay.
Free wi-fi is available to all hotel guests.
Located in the charming Victorian market town of Hay-on-Wye in the Welsh Marshes, The Swan at Hay Hotel is set in a snug 'n' cosy grade 2 listed Georgian coaching inn. Local food lovers are regulars in the hotel's two restaurants ' The Garden Room, which serves dinner in the Summer and Sunday lunches, and the bistro which serves lunch and evening meals. The hotel also has a garden ideal for summer al fresco dining. We have created a traditional British menu with favourites including pan-seared scallops with Leintwardine black pudding and pea puree; Confit shoulder of Welsh Marches lamb with mashed potato and red wine jus; and whimberry tart with homemade vanilla ice cream. Our traditional Sunday Lunch is very special, with some of the largest Yorkshire puddings you will ever see!
