The Strawberry Line Cafe

The Strawberry Line Cafe is run as a Community Interest Company by four local volunteer directors, supported by many others, including the people and organisations here. We don’t have shareholders, and any surplus is ploughed back into the business.

The cafe aims to serve the highest possible quality food and drink at very reasonable prices. We prepare and cook all our food here in the kitchen, using only the best and ethically-sourced ingredients, from local suppliers wherever possible.

As well as operating as a commercial café, the Strawberry Line Café provides training, employment and work experience for young adults with learning disabilities. People with learning disabilities are more likely to be out of work than people with physical disabilities or mental health problems, regardless of their willingness to work. By providing the opportunity to be in a real work environment and take industry standard qualifications, we are giving people the chance to prove themselves employable, and grow in confidence.
