Introduction
Let's start with the pros. The atmosphere is great, it is a classic hole in the wall barbeque joint in the heart of old Brentwood. The prices are incredible. If its the end of the month and money is tight, its the place to be. this place is a great place to get a good fix of BBQ in the middle of Austin. The brisket tastes moist, the links are solid (two flavors regular and jalapeno), and the beans are good. The mashed potatoes are a little too mashed but I wouldn't say you have to use a straw to eat them.
The people are friendly, the place is clean, the food is reasonably priced, and its BBQ people. This humble BBQ restaurant has been owned and operated by the same family since 1969. Ever want to try bbq in the 70's this is it. It's a tiny lil pit thats still set in the 70's. And I think it's 70' year olds cookin too. Sweet old folk is usually a sure sign of good ol recipes.
