The Knavesmire

If you have passed the Knavesmire recently, you will have noticed a hive of activity and lots of workmen about. Inglenook Inns and Taverns together with Spirit Pub Company are delighted to be bringing back to life this hugely loved, but recently neglected local pub located only 200 yards from York Racecourse. The cavernous red-brick Knavesmire will officially throw open its doors on 1st August. This major investment of £250k will not be an entire reinvention, but rather a stylish update, giving a much fresher and warmer ambiance.

Highlights will include a large welcoming entrance hall which is perfect to meet up with friends and enjoy a relaxing drink, moving through to comfortable lounge where you can enjoy dishes from our new menu – there are some pub classics, but also some inspired new-comers, using local produce from suppliers that we know and trust – above all we will deliver good value, straight talking food. Our Sunday roasts are legendary and look out for our Race Day Roasts, not to mention our County Stand Hot Dog – book ahead, they are going to be popular!! If you want to celebrate a family occasion – or just need an excuse to have a party – our function room will be just the ticket.

Out traditional games room will be a unique attraction – and will include pool table, bar billiards, skittles, chess tables and pin ball machines. You can keep abreast of all the major sporting attraction with our well placed TV screens.
