We believe in offering friendly and competent service in relaxed, ambient surroundings.
Situated in the slightly bohemian street of Gillygate, with the famous city wall bordering our picturesque tea garden, Ambience is a secret hidden treasure of York.
We want the café to be a relaxed environment where you can feel welcome just calling in for a coffee and a friendly face but feel equally relaxed ordering a sandwich or meal, be it alone or with friends, family, children or even the dog!
We don't want to be a formal restaurant, we just believe in offering quality home-cooked food in tranquil surroundings.
The Yorkshire produce displayed in the window is all featured in our menu.
Dogs are welcome in the garden; we'll supply refreshments for them (on us). All we ask is, like the children, they are well behaved!!
We have a baby changing table and high chairs available on request and we cater for children.
If you need to hold a meeting or party etc. just let us know and we will endeavour to accommodate you in any way we can.
