Introduction
Dating back to the early 18th century, the George & Dragon Inn stands next to the site of the original north walls gatehouse. The G&D is conveniently located just 500 yards from the Old Town Cross and Cathedral. Lee Howard took over The George & Dragon Inn in July 2006 and undertook a full refurbishment. You’ll find it wonderfully relaxed and welcoming, with open fires, comfortable leather sofas, real ales with outstanding food in a relaxed environment.
With never ending support from family, friends and superb staff we have been able to achieve our aim of creating a unique Gastro Inn. Offering good locally sourced food, a relaxed yet efficient approach to service.
