Introduction
Taberna de Haro has been serving Boston's most authentic Spanish food since 1998. Our menu includes favorites from 'tabernas' in Madrid, such as 'croquetas de jamon,' (bechamel and serrano ham croquettes), 'gambas al ajillo' (garlic shrimp), 'pisto manchego' (braised eggplant, peppers, onions and tomatoes with a poached egg), 'rabo de toro' (braised oxtail), or the much loved 'ancas de rana' (frog legs sautéed w garlic, splashed with brandy and lemon juice). People come not only for the delectable food, but for the outstanding wine list as well. Chef-owner Deborah Hansen achieved her sommelier title in 1997 in Madrid, and maintains a formidable list of exclusively Spanish wines. Over 320 strong, the list is one of the largest all-Spanish wine lists in the country. Each wine is meticulously described, and the prices are reasonable.
Not only are the food and wine extraordinary, the ambiance is warm and energetic. The knowledgeable servers are as efficient as they are friendly, and they seem to genuinely enjoy their bustling work environment.
Whether you choose small or large plates of Spain's traditional cuisine at Taberna de Haro, you will be delighted by their integrity and quality.
