Spice Village

Would not recommend at all based on the total rudeness of staff. Arrived on a Saturday night to be told we would wait short while for table. Finally seated after about half hour. Drinks order taken and served then food order taken. And then we waited...and waited... and waited. After an hour approached member of staff who assured me he would check on order and come back, he never did. Asked another member of staff and were told 5 minutes, after this time asked again but were told 5 minutes and would we like any more drinks but these would not be on the house. He then informed me that we had been waiting so long because we had not ordered poppadoms! A further 5 minutes later the manager walked past shouting 5 minutes, after a further 5 minutes we decided to leave. The manager then demanded that I pay for the food we had ordered which I refused to do as we had been kept waiting for so long he had breached a level of reasonable customer service but that I would pay for the drinks we had consumed. The other staff at the front were clearly uncomfortable with his behaviour as were many of the customers within the restaurant. He threatened me with the police and was abusive towards me and my friends. An hour and 45 minutes is far too long to be expected to wait anywhere for food and to be told we had to wait as we had not ordered poppadums is ridiculous! This is not a restaurant I will be visiting again and I would seriously consider going elsewhere if you are planning a night out soon. I have awarded 1 star as the drink was OK.
