Introduction
Manasalu Region of the Himalayas lies in the west of Kathmandu. Mt. Manasalu ( 8,156 m ./ 26,759 ft. ) is the 8th highest mountain peak in the earth lies in the Manasri Himalayan part. The peak was first climbed in 9th May, 1956 by Japanese Expedition team with Gyalzen Norbu together. Gorkha is the historic town of Nepal from where Shah King conquered Kathmandu in the 18th Century and started to rule from Kathmandu. The famous Gorakhkali Temple, Gorakhnath Cave and Manakamana temple are in Gorkha. The trekking is unique for the steep rise of elevation starting from 1000 meters to the high pass of approximately 5,200 m. from the sea level. This adventure trek requires special permit from the Government of Nepal as the region has listed as restricted area for foreigners. The trekking will give you firsthand experience of nomadic, monastic, Tibetan culture mixed with Nepali culture and the pristine environment adds attraction on it.
