Introduction
It all started 50 years ago, with one taqueria in a little corner of the then un- known Colonia Condesa. At that time it was just a modest charcoal grill run by two grill men who prepared specialities for the local clientele.
Within a year its popularity had grown to such an extent that people from all over Mexico City came to try the famous and traditional delicacies 'charcoal tacosâ?.
In 2010 UNESCO declared Mexican Cuisine an Intangible Heritage of Humanity, making it one of the first world cuisines to receive such honor.
On that same year and after almost half a century of being Mexico City's leading Taqueria, 'El Farolitoâ? has opened its doors in London as 'Lupitaâ?.
Our aim is to bring to this world capital of cuisine the best and most authentic of Mexico City's gastronomy.
