Introduction
Lounge was launched 10 years ago and is the brainchild of actor Maynard Eziashi who took his inspiration from his time living in LA.
The original site was at 88, Atlantic Road in early 1999, and its laid back ambience and chilled out decor soon proved a hit with Brixtonites.
But it wasn't long before the Lounge outgrew its premises, prompting a relocation to its present site, right next to the Dogstar pub.
The building is of historical interest, being the original premises of the Victorian grocer, David Greig. After opening his store in 1888, he went on to form one of the biggest grocery stores in the country. Sharp eyed visitors will note his name immortalised in the white tiled floor entrance to Lounge.
Of course, it's not just the building that makes Lounge such a popular haunt with Brixtonites - it's well known for its friendly and efficient staff!
