Introduction
Langtang Valley is situated straight north of Kathmandu with the closest Himalayan peaks from Kathmandu. Langtang National Park is the fourth national park of Nepal established in 1976 which covered an area of 1710 Sq km. Langtang Lirung ( 7245 m.) is the highest point of the park. Langtang lies in the sacred Hindu Himalayas zones with some of the most religious site for Hindu such as Gosainkunda Lake. The trek to Langtang valley is for 8 / 10 days with beautiful views of Himalayan peaks though they are not sky high. The people in Langtang follows buddhism and they are of ethnic Tamang. The trek begins with drive to Syabrubensi. Trek then follows the towns Lamahotel, Ghodatabela, Langtang village, Kyanging Gompa and then back.
