Introduction
Jomsom - Muktinath is in the Annapurna region of nepal which is one of the most beautiful region for trek. Muktinath is the temple of Hindu God Vishnu located in the base of Thorong pass at an altitude of some 3700 m. from sea level. The temple is the most visited by Hindu pilgrimages. It is said that devotee get rid from all sins by worshipping the temple. It is the best example of the religious harmony in Nepal since the complex has Buddhist nunnery together and prayed by both Hindus and Buddhists equally. The trek begins with flight to Jomsom, small airstrip located in the base Himalayan Peaks behind Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. The flight is excited and adventurous since small plane flies in a gorge made by two 8000m. high peak Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. The trek follows the river valley of Kaligandaki. The region is very different than other part of Nepal as it looks like Tibetan plateau.
