Introduction
Located within the heart of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh's iconic and unique new John Hope Gateway building, is the Gateway Restaurant.
With commanding views over the beautiful gardens beyond, the restaurant is the perfect location for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, in the evening this wonderful space turns into Edinburgh's newest and most inspiring event space, available for corporate, business and private events of all types and sizes.
Feedback gathered over many years has determined the desire by many visitors to the Garden that a superior, table service dining experience should be available. Finally with the building and development of this landmark new project, we are at last able to offer a first class, table service, dining experience, harnessing the ethos and values of the garden, ensuring quality, locally sourced ingredients and providing simple but effective messages about food provenance to all visitors young and old .
The catering team wthin the Garden are passionate about our new facilty and keen to build and develop a reputation for superior value, outstanding service and as tasty a range of menu items as can be found anywhere within the City.
With a new building and such strong emphasis on botanical themes and sustainability throughout, we are keen to establish an organic and evolving approach to how we create and develop our menus, we'll gauge feedback and provide dishes that reflect your thoughts and suggestions whilst harnessing innovation but not forgetting some good old traditional favourites.
Our Chef's will make every effort to source local fresh produce and provide clear messages on provenence wherever possible, we are already producing jams and chutneys made from apples and quinces grown within the Garden.
