Fish and chips always taste better by the sea, and Franco’s fish bar has been at the heart of Aberavon sea front since 1970.
We’ve expanded over the years from the original tiny shed to our new purpose built restaurant. Our takeaway is larger so on those glorious sunny days you’ll be back on the beach in no time. Our fantastic new restaurant serves a variety of fish, salads, homemade pies and wonderful daily specials, with our exceptional chips and fantastic views over Swansea bay and the best sunsets around.
Come and join us on Sunday for one of our wonderful home-cooked roast dinners. Each week we offer slow-cooked shoulder of lamb, beef sirloin and chicken, served with a tureen of fresh seasonal vegetables, a Yorkshire pudding and our delicious gluten-free gravy.

We offer so much more than just fish and chips, though those are fantastic! From delicious breakfast waffles to slow-cooked steak pies, not to mention our extra special Sunday roasts, we have something for everyone and every appetite. We are fully licensed so feel welcome to settle in to watch the sunset with a bottle of wine or an Irish coffee and one of our wonderful home-made desserts.

We've been serving takeaway fish and chips on Aberavon seafront for over 40 years, and are committed to carrying on the tradition for the next 40 too! Whilst you can't beat eating salty chips to the sight and sound of the waves, sometimes our Welsh weather gets a bit much for even the most hardy of us.
