Introduction
Eye Focusing
Eye focusing is technically called accommodation that gives us the ability to see at different distances vividly. The eyes are merely designed to focus or target only one distance at a time, so when you look at objects and images from a distance, the images or objects at a near distance become blurry and vice versa.
Our eye-lens is wonderfully engineered to reshape by itself in order that the light rays they perceive be redirected on the retina, the same as the macro lens of SLR camera.
Kids who have eye focusing problems have difficulty maintaining the effort, causing their eyesight to flicker when looking at objects or images at near and far distances. The eye fatigue resulting from this condition, almost usually keep children from reading or for those who you really want to read hold the book at close range to their eyes when they read. This kind of eye condition is called accommodation excess, or accommodation insufficiency or accommodative in facility.
You will know that your children have this problem if you can notice these symptoms:
1. They hold things close to their eyes
2. They complain about blurry vision
3. They have poor reading comprehension
4. Their eyes quickly get fatigue
5. They complain about having headache when reading and thus usually spend less time to it
