Introduction
I offer individual therapy for children and adolescents, as well as parental guidance and support for clients dealing with, amongst others:
Adjustment difficulties
Anger management
Anxiety
Low self esteem
Relationship difficulties
Scholastic difficulties
I also offer school readiness, psychoeducational, career, and accommodation assessments (GDE and IEB)
My approach is primarily Psychodynamic. However, I may make use of different approaches depending on the client, as each person is unique, and may require alternate forms of therapy such as solution focused therapy.

Claire Maher
Educational Psychologist
I am registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Educational Psychologist. I completed my honours degree at the University of KwaZulu Natal, and then my masters degree at the University of the Witwatersrand.
I work with children, adolescents, as well as adults who require therapy or assessments in relation to learning, and development. I offer both brief and long-term therapy, depending on the client's needs.
I have presented at various international and local conferences such as the International Congress of Psychology (ICP) in 2012 and the South African Society of Clinical Hypnosis (SASCH) conference in October 2012. I have also presented various workshops to parents and teachers regarding coping with primary school and therapeutic activities to assist parents in dealing with their children. I will be offering further workshops in 2013.
