Introduction
Spanking-fresh fish, cooked to order, is what every self-respecting chippie should offer, but the genuine thing is all too rare. Here, they get it right ' kick off with potted shrimps or mackerel pâté, then move on to classic battered cod, haddock, skate & suchlike or something from the list of seafood grills. There's precious little fuss or folderol & accompaniments are kept to the minimum (mushy peas, chips, gherkins & salad), though there are some nice herb butters to go with the grills. Finish with treacle tart or bread & butter pudding. The wine list is unsurprisingly white-heavy & happily inexpensive. All of this, plus the prospect of daily special offers, makes Brady's a favourite with the locals ' expect to queue for a table or a takeaway, particularly at peak times.
