Introduction
Section 504 Indian Penal Code deals with the punishment for committing the offence of intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace. Section 504 IPC clearly states that, if there is an act or words uttered by a person, due to which the other person face humiliation or insult, and commits an act which hampers the public peace at large, or due to which the insulted person commits another offence, the person insulting and giving such provocations shall be liable to punishment under the ambit of sec. 504 IPC.
