The reason I chose cyance&magyk is because for me these are the key components of design.
The cyance (science) part is the technology, my PC, my tablet, Photoshop and even the humble pencil, the tools that allow me to do what I do.
The magyk (magic) for me is the place design comes from, the ideas, the creativity and the emotions that good design can evoke
I originally started out as JGM Design, but with that name would have drowned in a pool of other designers who share my initials, and if I'm going to work in the art and design industry, I figured I needed to put a little more thought into the name and the brand I want to create.
If I can't be creative for myself, why would others trust me to do it for them?
