Craniosacral Therapy, Reiki and Shamanic Healing

Craniosacral therapy is a subtle yet profound healing form which assists the body's natural capacity for self-repair.

It involves the craniosacral system and the craniosacral fluid which is formed in the ventricles of the brain and then circulates around the central nervous system, inside the dura surrounding the brain and the spinal column. It can help to release deeply held patterns resulting from trauma, both physical and psychological. It treats people and causes rather than symptoms and labelled conditions. The practitioner engages with the client's underlying energetic vitality, represented in the craniosacral system, and helps the tissues to release any restrictions to the free distribution of this vitality throughout the body.

Reiki, translated as universal life force energy, is a Japanese method of activating your own internal healing energy to release blockages that may have physical or emotional sources and which are resulting in physical symptoms of all kinds, low energy, depression, feelings of being out of balance or disconnected. Receiving Reiki treatments should help your inner energy, known as Ki in Japan, Chi in China and Prana in India, to flow smoothly, to those parts of the body that require it. It is a completely natural healing energy activated by intention.

Shamanic healing has the intent of empowering the client to heal themselves ' to step into their own healing capabilities, which are inherent within.

Western psychotherapy tends to teach small steps ' don't deal with more than one thing at a time ' don't try to change too much at once. Shamanism says take everything at once ' change the underlying energetic pattern, the underlying mythic map ' let go of the stories and the way they bind you ' step into a new way of being.

The techniques I use are those taught in Alberto Villoldo's School of Healing the Light Body. In the Peruvian traditions on which the work is based, heavy energy may be imprinted on the luminous energy field around the chakras, leading to repeated patterns of pain and blockage. The healing process uses a combination of ritual work with sacred stones, breathwork and holding of release points in the body to clear this heavy energy, repairing the wounded area with illuminating light and assisting the client to live in a different way from that moment forwards.
