Versa Robes

Changed installation date (x3) & quote (x4). Duped me into paying deposit prior to the final quote such that install date could be booked - then had to wait for final drawings approval anyway. I'm normally not so naïve/trusting but it was my understanding that once I paid the deposit the installation day could be booked. They refused to return my full deposit despite my not having signed their 'Terms & Conditions' or approved final drawings/ quote before paying a nominal deposit. Concocted an 'admin fee' ($220) - skimmed from my deposit citing that it was in the Terms & Conditions (it wasn't) that I hadn't signed. No mention of an 'admin fee' when I paid the deposit in good faith before receiving the final (non-itemised quote which had jumped by $700 from the verbal quote the previous week). LIED to Consumer Affairs saying I'd been informed at the time I paid deposit that there would be a $220 'admin fee' that was in the Terms & Conditions (it wasn't). Had Versa not robbed me of my money with their fabricated admin fee I would have gone back to them and asked if they would price match. Their desperate & crude money grabbing scheme backfired on them – so much for professional!

I've not decided whether to take it to VCAT but even with the money they pocketed I'm still $700 better off having gone with an ethical company. Almara and Perfect Australian Wardrobes both quoted within a dollar of each other and were $900+ cheaper than Versa Robes. The company I went with didn't make me sign any terms and conditions, provided an itemised quote and the installation was completed in less than two weeks. Simple, honest, reliable service. Professional. On the other hand Versa are a bunch of unreliable, unscrupulous money-grabbing amateurs who make it up as they go along.
