In 2013, I took the plunge and started my own business. I didn’t have the capital to purchase all the assets I needed to start. Online shopping was in its infancy and there weren’t many businesses that recognized the value of having an online presence, which made it challenging to source the products and services I needed at the time.
Increasingly over the past seven years, whether I was on holiday or doing renovations to my house, it has been frustrating getting hire equipment as it was often already booked out and not available in a short time frame or on a whim. The current hire market certainly wasn’t catering to my needs in terms of variety either.
What came out of that frustration was an idea to create a platform where you could just about hire anything and everything, all done online from the comfort of your own home.
Making hiring easy
We quickly recognised that there was a demand for a better and more efficient way to hire products throughout New Zealand.
With an increased focus on utilizing resources available rather than spending money on assets that may only be used every once in a while. The idea to have a centralized web-based platform that everyone can use for hiring, renting, and lending items was quickly formed.
