Trolley Car Cafe

Trolley Car Cafe is known for it's great food and friendly service. From the moment customers walk in they are welcomed and met with numerous create-your-own menu options. The food is made with the freshest ingredients possible, including vegetables and herbs from their kitchen garden. This allows the chefs to create tasty "off-the-menu" specials in addition to the regular menu.

The Cafe is also known for giving customers convenient options. Easily accessible from Kelly Drive, visitors can bike, jog or walk to the Cafe. Other convenient options include: an on-site bike rental and repair shop, free wifi, BYOB, ice cream served all day, and spacious patio seating with river views.

The Cafe is an East Falls landmark with an updated design that kept the environment in mind. The Cafe uses passive solar lighting and active solar hot water heating, that generates 70% of its hot water needs and food is cooked with a RATIONAL steamer that uses mostly steam and heat to prepare food.

Established in 2010: For more than 40 years, "The Bathey" sat on a forgotten piece of Fairmount Park. In 2007, Fairmount Park Historic Preservation Trust and East Falls Development Corporation (EFDC) facilitated a public-private partnership with developer Brinton Partners as a way to revive the once vibrant neighborhood swimming hole into a city landmark and gateway to East Falls.

In 2009, Brinton leased the space to Trolley Car Diner owner Ken Weinstein to rehabilitate the building for use as a café, welcome center, public restroom and recreational rental outlet. The Trolley Car Cafe opened June 3, 2010.
