Nestling beneath Buckden Pike and being the highest pub in Wharfedale, The White Lion is truly in the heart of the Dales.
Described by Wainwright as a ‘tiny oasis’ our family run traditional Dales inn offers a warm and friendly welcome. Formerly a drover’s hostel The White Lion has its original oak beams, open log fire and stone flagged floors, with one of only two original bull ’ook games in the Dales.
We provide a good choice of traditional hand pulled ales and fine wine to accompany our home cooked food which is wholesome and plentiful enough to satisfy the greatest of appetites after a day in the Dales.
The White Lion is open all year providing warm and friendly accommodation throughout the changing seasons. Nestling in a hill side surrounded by stunning views this is an ideal base from which to walk or explore. Well behaved dogs are welcome on the ground floor.
