Introduction
The Town House was built as a 'house for the town'; a place to congregate, socialise and foster relationships over a meal and a drink. It is a public lounge and dining room with traditional food values, locally sourced produce and hospitality with local character.
The Town House welcomes the needs of all guests whether it is a three course meal or a snack and a quiet place to read the paper. The coffee machine is always on and a selection of cakes and scones are baked fresh daily. The comfortable lounge bar is a welcome haven for a relaxing drink alone or with friends and the north facing deck is the best alfresco space in town to spend a sunny afternoon with a safe enclosed sandpit play area for the children.
Led by the restaurants owner Emily Lucas formerly of the widely acclaimed Bay House restaurant The Town House kitchen team are focused on global cuisine embracing a creative philosophy of no limitations.
"Being able to experiment and enjoy cooking any type of cuisine keeps our palates keen and those of our clientele. We are open to exploring the flavours of the world and want to avoid being pigeon holed into a particular genre or region of inspiration. My team and I take pride in the well being of the community by supporting our local producers wherever possible and offering you freshly prepared food, made here, by us, for you. All of our breads, baking, sauces, condiments and dressings are prepared on the premise daily. We use free-range eggs and chickens and hand pick our beef from the farm and have them prepared to order at the village butchery in Murchison. Our lettuces, Asian greens, herbs and a selection of our vegetables are grown locally and all of our baking is gluten free."
