The Riverside Inn Aymestrey

Deep in the heart of the Herefordshire countryside on the southern edge of the Mortimer Forest, the Riverside Inn nestles cosily at the point where the western arm of the Roman Watling Street crosses the River Lugg. Rich in original features and an atmosphere created by over 300 years of hospitality, the inn welcomes all visitors to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the truly beautiful location.

Ales from Stoke Lacy and ciders and perries from Much Marcle and Wigmore are served alongside fine wines from Europe and the New World to complement the truly locally sourced food, cooked to perfection by our team of qualified chefs, which includes Andy Link (Herefordshire Young Chef of the Year 2007), Andy Thomas (Young Chef of the Year at the Ludlow Food Festival 2008) and our latest apprentice chef Kayleigh Luscott.

Accommodation is available and our rooms are all individually furnished and one is individually haunted by the lady from the river. The Hayloft suite overlooks our magical river and opens onto the terrace gardens; The Stable Suite gives onto the car park, perfect for families, the less mobile and dogs.
