The Phatt Chef Restaurant

Run by Chef Patron Simon Kerr and his wife Megan, the Phatt Chef Restaurant in Clarens serves well matured steaks as well as a range of dishes that keep the most discerning of diners more than satisfied. The Phatt Chef has been recognized as one of SA's Top 100 Restaurants by the Restaurant Association of SA as well as having been chosen for 5 years in a row by EAT OUT as one of the preferred dining destinations of South Africa.

Chef-owner Simon Kerr’s 30 years’ experience and love of great cooking shines through. This is primarily a steakhouse and all the meats are aged for between 28 to 35 days. Try a rump, sirloin or fillet steak with splendid mustard mash and choose from a list of sauces, like roast garlic and parmesan, avocado and Dijon, or gratinéed brie and red onion marmalade.

There are seafood and vegetarian alternatives on offer, together with a big dessert menu – try the rhubarb pavlova. The bread rolls are the best!!
