Introduction
The Old Cottage Restaurant building is the oldest standing building in the area and was originally four tied 14th century cottages. The building is painted by artists and often photographed. It was formally tea rooms, frequented regularly by Lawrence of Arabia who used to sit in a corner where he did a lot of his writings, often referring to the Ringwood Tea Rooms which is what it was at the time.
The restaurant is packed with Olde Worlde Charm and atmosphere. It has a lounge and bar, and three dining areas. One of which seats large parties up to thirty.
The food is mainly modern English / French with a large emphasis on Fresh Fish / Shell Fish and Game when in season. Paul himself shoots throughout the winter, hence the variety of game. Tricia's father and brother fish regularly, providing a variety of fresh fish. The portions are generous and the prices most reasonable. The food is accompanied by a well selected wine list.
Children are most welcome at all times. Also dining in the garden in the summer (weather permitting) and free parking on the forecourt next to the Restaurant.
