The Moorings Restaurant and Bar

Situated in an historic coaching inn, just a short walk from Newark Castle and enjoying views over the River Trent and Newark Town Lock. The building dates back to 1770 and has formerly been known as The Swan and Salmon and Kelly's Tavern.

We opened as The Moorings in August 2010. Whilst embracing the historic and beautiful immediate surroundings, The Moorings has taken a step towards the contemporary, offering modern cuisine in a relaxed, comfortable environment.

Head Chef Colin Auld has created fantastic menus to be enjoyed throughout the day. Our beautiful new restaurant setting is perfect for events and parties from school proms to group functions, and when the weekend weather is fine the Lock Bar overlooking the Town Lock is a great place to be, where the views come free!

We also have an upstairs lounge available for private hire throughout the week. We can cater for any occasion from birthdays and retirement parties to weddings and christenings or corporate events.
