Introduction
The Hare Restaurant and Bar in Lambourn Woodlands, open seven days a week, is a Grade II listed former coaching inn dating back to 1630. Extended in 2009, it features a modern lounge/bar serving light snacks and a restaurant almost double in size.
The restaurant upholds its high reputation for fine dining, serving a tempting choice of traditional and contemporary cuisine. A relaxed and pleasant ambience pervades the four pleasant, comfortable dining areas, each with their own distinctive appeal. The Garden Room is available for private parties and can be closed off from the other areas.
Our talented head chef Jamie Hodson has worked for many prestigious establishments under some outstanding chefs. He carefully selects his quality ingredients to create stunning value dishes. His varied lunchtime menu changes weekly while his evening menu evolves with the seasons. The restaurant also has a choice of 85 fine wines plus a wide range of liquors.
And customers can relax in the bar and lounge, open from 11.00am to 11.00pm, where a selection of mouth-watering up-market snacks are also served up to 6.00pm to cater for customers short on time but still looking for quality food. Cocktails are also a speciality of the bar.
In the summer months, we offer al fresco dining under a purpose-built gazebo accommodating up to 44 diners to make the outdoor dining experience even more pleasurable.
Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty above the valley of the racehorse, The Hare Restaurant is situated mid-way between Newbury and Swindon, three miles from Junction 14 of the M4.
The ideal venue to relax and enjoy a quiet drink or fine dining in convivial surroundings, Front of House Manager, Bruno Gautier, and his expert team look forward to welcoming you.
