Introduction
Back in 1910, Jeremy’s great-grandfather, OR Goring, founded the hotel that has carried the family name ever since.
A man of great vision, OR Goring persuaded the Duke Of Westminster to sell the plot of land at the Buckingham Palace end of what was to become Beeston Place, where he razed the Sun public house and a string of cottages to make way for the last grand hotel to be built in the Edwardian era.
On the 2nd March 1910 the world’s first hotel with en suite facilities and central heating to every bedroom was opened.
Today, The Goring is regarded the favourite address for anyone looking for the quintessentially English hotel in the heart of London.
A hotel where every member of the team takes terrific pride in offering the highest levels of personal service, where guests are sincerely welcomed and can enjoy elegant individual accommodations, the tranquillity of its own private Gardens, and the utterly splendid Lounge Bar and Dining Room where the very best of British food and been celebrated for over a century.
With just 69 rooms and suites The Goring is truly a “Baby Grandâ€, the finest of hotels in the perfect location but with the most intimate of atmospheres and personalised attention.
