Introduction
Just 8 miles from the Georgian city of Bath and 90 minutes from London the Dandy Lion can be found in the heart of the historic market town of Bradford-On-Avon in Wiltshire. The Dandy lion is the perfect venue for couples, groups of friends, families and business people alike who enjoy socializing in a traditional setting with a convivial atmosphere.
The pub downstairs has large picture windows which are thrown open on sunny days to allow customers to watch the world go by. Move into the heart of the pub through pleasingly random architecture to a back room which is snug and cosy. Pitch base camp here with family or mates, board games and a mix of eclectic snacks such as jelly babies, Minstrels and our own spicy nuts and easily loose track of time. A selection of real ales from Wadworth of Devizes are on tap plus the ever popular Butcombe bitter from Bristol. The wines are personally selected by Steve the landlord and include some varieties you might not normally reach for. This includes Danebury, a fine English wine from Salisbury.
Upstairs is Garrett's restaurant which is open at weekends and available for functions and private parties during the week. The room has a more contemporary feel which includes a stunning photographic image studio featuring well known Bradford-On-Avon landmarks, which you could call " The Dandy's Warhol".
We have earned a strong reputation for unpretentious fine food. We believe in great flavours and making every dish the sum of much better parts. From the simplicity of wholesome soup and bread to saddle of rabbit stuffed with black pudding and confit legs. Our food style is robustly British and rustic European lead by seasonal produce from local suppliers. Lovejoy's of Melksham deliver our vegetables which come from local farms. Bartlett's of Bath and Walter Rose of Devizes supply our meats.
