The Brown Horse Inn, located in the heart of the Lake District, is a newly refurbished 1850’s coaching inn that offers its guests a luxurious and modern take on the rural escape.
Incorporating all of the best aspects of the high end country hotel and the homely B&B, it boasts a sleek design, innovative and contemporary cooking and boutique exclusivity. Owners Steve and Karen have developed the surrounding land and vegetable gardens and free range farms, making The Brown Horse Inn virtually self-sufficient.
The Brown Horse Inn offers nine quality bedrooms including four newly refurbished en-suite bedrooms. The contemporary styles of the rooms does not detract from the historic charm of the inn. The individually designed rooms include: Flat Screen TVs, Solid Oak Beds and Luxury en-suite bathrooms. The original exposed beams and fittings maintain the unique character of the Brown Horse Inn.
The Brown Horse Inn offers a sophisticated menu with a contemporary take on traditional local fare. All of our meats and the majority of our vegetables are reared and grown on the Brown Horse Estate. Anything that is not direct from The Brown Horse Estate is sourced locally.
The Restaurant also offers an extensive collection of wines and hand-pulled, Home Brewed and Traditional Ales. The Restaurant has 40 covers with table size varying from 2 persons up to 12 persons, however, The Brown Horse Inn can also cater for parties when booked in advance.
Adjacent to the Restaurant is the traditional country bar which offers a lovely relaxed atmosphere, serving exactly the same menu as the restaurant. The Bar has 30 covers with table sizes varying from 2 persons up to 8 persons.
