Introduction
It’s certainly going to be a busy month as we approach the middle of the year. There is a real calendar of events that we hope you will join us for. All major televised events and occasions will be shown out on the deck TV where you can relax, drink or dine and take in all that is going on if you choose.
Our New Summer Menu is now fully settled in. Peter has taken his influences from the season and the best of the produce available to us to create this menu. Particular favourites so far are our ham hock, broad bean & leek terrine, deconstructed piccalilli, pea shoots – a truly beautiful dish with the true earthiness of the season and our pan fried fillet of rainbow trout, new potato galette, garden peas, broad beans, samphire & lemon butter sauce, pea shoots. Desserts have taken a step up and our selections for this summer make you look forward to the end of your main course; look out for the summer fruit tart, gooseberry curd that is soon to come as we enter their season too!
Weather permitting you can enjoy all our menus outside on the deck Dining Alfresco. (Out on the deck you can also enjoy the Barbecue Menu that will be served when we finally manage to get above twenty degrees)!
Our Sunday roasting meats are as local as possible and come from Simon at Surrey Hills Butchers in Oxshott. He sources his meat from local markets and he is able to let us know from which herds and breeds they are sourced from. With the assistance of our wine merchants we now offer a wider range of wine by the glass. The Marsanne, All Saints Estate, Rutherglen, Australia 2009 is crisp, rounded and refreshing with lime, peach and honey. Great with our daily fish specials, not a wine of grape of wide reputation, but well worth a try.
