LOCATION
The well-hidden secret of Tango Mar is located on the beautiful, deserted Quizales beach at the Nicoya Peninsula on Costa Rica’s Pacific Coast. The Resort can easily be reached by land or by air.
By land it is a 2 hours drive from San Jose to the port of Puntarenas. Here you board the ferry to Paquera. Check the dolphins on your ride! From Paquera it takes you another 45 minutes to drive to Tango Mar. By air, you take a 25-minute flight from San Jose to Tambor Airstrip, located 6 km from the Resort.
OVERVIEW
Tango Mar is a 150-acre (60Ha) exclusive private beachfront reserve with ample of added attractions. The blend of fine accommodations with exuberant jungle vegetation, exotic birds and wildlife makes Tango Mar the ideal hideaway for anyone who wants to enjoy refinement in a natural setting.
With only 35 rooms, the philosophy of Tango Mar is to provide a personal, friendly, relaxed and attentive service. Staff is carefully selected and groomed to anticipate the needs of our guests and will do whatever possible to guarantee an unforgettable stay.
FACILITIES
Tango Mar has a 9-hole executive golf course (par 3 and par 4), two lightened tennis courts, a soccer field, four swimming pools, gym and stables with quality horses. Golf-equipment, mountain-bikes and boogie-boards are available for rent.
In our “Cristobal†gourmet-restaurant, the freshest seafood, international cuisine and native Costa Rican dishes are prepared under supervision of our Chef. Furnished with beautiful Cristobal wood, the restaurant features a casual, yet romantic setting with a breathtaking ocean view. Aperitifs, cocktails and after-dinner drinks are served at the Tango Bar.
Just few steps away from the beach is the main swimming pool with Jacuzzi and wet bar; you will enjoy beautiful views of the ocean and the pastel colors of the sunset.
Our Spa offers treatments to optimize your health such as massages, exfoliations, facials, body treatments and much more.
Surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers, so close to the ocean, our “Rancho†poolside Grill-restaurant on the beach is the place to enjoy lunch snacks and tropical cocktails.
MEETING ROOM:
Quizales Meeting Room: 105 square meters. This amazing meeting room located just few steps away from the beach with beautiful ocean views adjusts to all type of events, social, weddings and corporate meetings. Adaptable to different seating formats: school, imperial, auditorium, “U†and cocktail. High speed WI-FI services, video beam, projector screen and microphone available.
ACCOMMODATIONS
Tango Mar offers three different types of lodgings; oceanfront rooms that mainly cater to families, tropical suites for couples and Tiki suites for the most demanding. All rooms have been recently renovated, have a private bath and are equipped with a/c, phone, satellite TV, a safety deposit box, a well-stocked minibar and complementary coffee.
Beach Front Rooms (18).
You have never slept closer to the beach! These spacious rooms feature 2 queen size beds or one king size bed in a tropical atmosphere. The private bath is equipped with all necessary amenities such as a hairdryer and a large shower. Enjoy the superb views from your private balcony and let the gentle sounds of the surf put you to sleep at night!
Tropical Suites (12)
These unique and charming rooms are built in elliptical-shaped clusters of three and surrounded by exuberant tropical gardens. It is located 250 feet (80m) from the beach and the golf course. Each suite is graced with a hand carved four-post canopy king size bed and a Jacuzzi. The private bath is equipped with all necessary amenities such as a shower and a hairdryer. Watch the monkeys passing by from your sun-deck!
Tiki Suites (5)
These Polynesian-style cabanas are very romantic and located 60 feet (20m) from the beach. Decorated with an abundance of wood and bamboo, these suites breathe the atmosphere of a private cottage. All suites have a wooden king size bed from where you enjoy the view of the ocean. The private bath features both a Jacuzzi and a shower.
Beach Front Villas (Robinson Crusoe & Mono Congo last one with outside Jacuzzi)
These spacious two-air conditioning bedrooms, two bathrooms, come with a fully equipped kitchen, living rooms and terrace. There is nothing that obstructs the view between you and the ocean except for a pair of hammocks where you will find the ultimate in relaxation and the only disturbance comes from the waves and jungle animals. Daily maid service is provided.
Royal Villa
This villa at the beach, is offering a peaceful and relaxing setting in a deluxe ambience. The 3 levels of this villa have commanding bedrooms and the swimming pool; the third level has one room, a fully equipped kitchen, living bedroom and a large terrace with a beautiful ocean view. The 5 bedrooms have a private bathroom with shower, air-condition, minibar, hair dryer, and satellite TV.
The Presidential Villa
The pride of Tango Mar! Situated very close to the golf course, the Presidential Villa offers a very relaxing atmosphere in a deluxe ambiance. The villa consists of two master suites and two junior suites, a very spacious, fully equipped kitchen, an open design living room and a private parking lot. All suites have private baths, private balconies and separate clothing rooms. The suites are elegantly furnished with hand carved canopy king-size beds with lace bedding and have a TV satellite, stereo, and a/c. In addition, the master suites each have a Jacuzzi, a sitting area and ample of possibilities to put up extra beds. Enjoy the ocean view from the private swimming pool with waterfall! It is ideal for families and friends, up to 10 people.
EXCURSIONS
Tango Mar offers a wide-variety of tours that enable you to discover the protected Nicoya Peninsula; horseback riding along the beach (to Montezuma), boat-tours through the Mangroves or to the nearby Tortuga-island (snorkeling), deep-sea fishing and scuba dive. Cabo Blanco Strict Nature Reserve and Curu National Wildlife Refuge are nearby and guided visits can be arranged.
AIR TRANSPORTATION
Domestic airlines fly from two to three times a day from San Jose to Tambor Airstrip. Contact our reservations department for flight-schedules and reservations. Private charter flights can be arranged.
