Introduction
Sydney Clear Asbestos is an asbestos removal specialist.
It is imperative that you let the professionals handle asbestos removal because it can be dangerous to those who aren't professionally trained and licensed.
The use of asbestos has been discontinued in NSW in all products and fibro sheets by the middle of the 1980s. After this time, asbestos had still been used with friction products, for clutch and brake linings. In December of 2003, the manufacture as well as use of any asbestos products were completely banned in Australia.
There has been a lot of asbestos exposure linked to a lot of do it yourself renovations, with some Australians being diagnosed with mesothelioma. Most of the people exposed were primarily men that have been known to work with asbestos, with more women today that are being diagnoses through home renovations in a non-occupational capacity.
Whenever asbestos is disturbed during demolition or renovation, the fibres can be released into the air, which is then inhaled. These fibres increase the risk of lung cancer or mesothelioma. 60.5% of people doing DIY renovations have reported that they have been exposed to asbestos and about 53% reported a partner and 40% reported a child had been exposed during such renovations.
