As undergraduate assistant he collaborated with several department chairs. He obtained a scholarship on renewable energies in Italy in 1986 and graduated in electric, electronic and environmental engineering in 1988. Just a year later, he became Professor of Renewable Energies. His thesis on wind turbine design was published as a book in Spain in 1992, sponsored by the European Community.
In 1990 he relocated to Italy and was engaged by SWS Engineering as project manager of two high voltage lines in the Dominican Republic and several industrial and power installations in Northern Italy., as well as development projects in Egypt and Mozambique.
In 2000 he became general manager of an automotive software Company and moved to Spain.
In 2009 Mario founded Sustainable Technologies SL. Since then Innocentive has awarded him a prize sponsored by the Rockefeller Foundation , the first prize of The Economist Challenge on tackling globalclimate change, the Environmental Defens Fund prize on nitrate capture for euthrophication prevention, the Consumer Electronics Association on recovering lead from cathodic ray tube glass and other prizes. Caixa Manresa and Innovacat have also awarded him prizes in Spain, and he was also awrded the Green Business Award 2011 from the Italian magazine Modus Vivendi.

He is a Research Partner of the Marine Biotechnology Institute of Gran Canaria (Spain) and of Prof. Raman Saravanane of the Pondicherry Engineering College (India).
At present Mario is professor of Wind Power and Biogas Technology in Italy, at the Consorzio Universitario di Pordenone, the Agroenergia association and at the Aghape Ambiente Institute. A member of the Spanish Association of Scientific Journalists, he writes articles on Clean Technologies for the magazine Tecno EnergÃa and for the Italian portal architetturaecosstenibile.it .
