Created by Dodd Mitchell of DMD & Associates, Sushi Roku builds upon the traditional Japanese eatery by adding luxurious natural materials, such as rich wood, koi-filled ponds and massive volcanic rock monoliths that provide a sophisticated, sensual atmosphere. Bright lights are forfeited for flattering illumination that seductively emanates from candles or lanterns, while a generous use of stone and slate is softened with exotic Asian bamboo and rice paper, as well as soothing waterfalls and antique Buddhas. All Sushi Roku restaurants provide patios with views, including the vibrant street scene of the Las Vegas Strip or in the case of Santa Monica, ocean views.

Sushi Roku features an outstanding selection of sakes, available in all prices and styles, from extra dry to sweet. Sushi Roku Pasadena offers half priced sakes every Monday nights. The restaurant also features a list of wines from both Old and New World vineyards, as well as a selection of Champagne. Selections of beers, including the restaurants own Red Sun ($8.00), are also available.
