Our law firm represents property owners in eminent domain lawsuits. These lawsuits are also called “condemnation lawsuits”. Under the Texas and United States constitutions, if the government or other entity with the power of eminent domain takes your property for a public purpose, then you must be paid just compensation. This is based on the market value of the property taken and any damages to the remainder of your property. We only represent property owners (landowners) in Texas. The types of eminent domain actions are for road expansions, power lines, pipelines, water lines, schools, railroads, etc. We also do work at the Texas Public Utility Commission (PUC) where we assist property owners in CCN proceedings. Our adversaries are: the State of Texas, TxDOT, LCRA, AEP, GVEC, GBRA, water companies, CPS, pipeline companies, Enterprise Pipeline. The terms are “acquisition” or “easement.”
