Introduction
Our vision for Sobani is to create a neighborhood restaurant that offers fine dining contemporary American cuisine, in a casual setting; with a special emphasis on the neighborhood'getting to know our customers, understanding what they like, and serving them in a comfortable environment. We want folks to feel like they can drop by any time, whether for a quick lunch, a glass of wine, or a leisurely dinner. Sobani is a Japanese word that means nearby, or in the neighborhood. The owner grew up in Japan, and she chose this name because it expresses the essence of what she wanted her new restaurant to be.
Jon Gaboric, General Manager and Executive Chef, has lived in Asia, received his culinary training in the U.S., and has extensive experience in the U.S. and Europe. His dishes reflect these diverse influences, and his style has been called 'intelligent, creative food with a sense of humor.â?
