SHARK CAGE DIVING IN GANSBAAI
A few miles offshore from the tiny fishing village of Gansbaai you will find South Africa’s great white shark mecca – Dyer Island and nearby Geyser Rock which is separated by what is affectionately known as Shark Alley. Dyer Island, named after an American settler, Sam Dyer. Dyer Island is home to thousands of African penguins, gannets, cormorants and on Geyser Rock more than 50 000 Cape fur seals. Most people, however, visit this tiny spit of land to see what lies below the surface of the sea. Shark Alley, this channel is recognized as the shark capital of the world.
