Introduction
A well-behaved dog will come back when called, walk nicely on the lead, leave things alone when asked and sit, lie down and stay on command.
But..
Your dog, like his/her owner, has a character. He or she may be nervous, may need space, or may want attention. So you also need to understand your dog’s temperament if you want an obedient pet that is also contented and confident.
My dog training classes and 1-2-1 training sessions will help you achieve this.
I only use positive, reward-based training methods based on the latest scientific principles of how animals learn (applied animal behaviour).
Classes are suitable for puppies and older dogs.
There is no dog that can’t be trained
If your dog has particular problems, such as excessive barking, separation anxiety, toilet training problems, is agitated around other dogs, lunging on the lead, fear of noises or jumps up at people then my one to one sessions are ideal to help you
Call or email me for a free initial chat to find out what is the best training method for your dog and for you.

Meet Our Team (1)
Jemma Redhead
The boss
In 2010 I decided to end my eight year career in social care and follow my dream to work with dogs full-time. Since then I have been professionally walking and training dogs.
Since February 2009 I have been volunteering with the Manchester and Salford Branch of the RSPCA, initially as a home visitor conducting pre-adoption and post-adoption assessments and then I served briefly on the board of trustees, as well as assisting at their pet health clinics, becoming a volunteer dog walker, dog training and behaviour advisor and a cat and kitten fosterer.
I am also called on from time to time by local rescue organisations to assess dogs, implement training plans and teach their staff.
I currently live in Sharston, South Manchester and share my life with various pets. Thomas is my Jack Russell whom I adopted. He was very underweight and had been neglected. He has a few behavioural problems that we continue to work on, but I think he will always prefer to have space from other dogs. In fact, I think he would just prefer to lounge in bed with me all day!
I also have two cats, Dibble and Snibs, both of them born with three legs. Unfortunately, in June 2013 Snibby was hit by a speeding car. He was left paralysed in his rear leg. It has been slow progress but he can now stand straight, walk without dragging his foot and his tail has regained some feeling.
Lastly (but not least) is Albert, a normal 4-legged cat with a big appetite
