Rudyard's British Pub and Grill

Right in the heart of the Montrose lies Rudyard's Pub - beloved neighborhood bar, celebrated live-music landmark, and home of the Rudz Burger. ""Where else in Houston could you see Valient Thorr, eat a near-orgasmic cheeseburger (seriously, it's kinda sexy), watch the Rockets on the tube and play a game of drunkenly dangerous darts all in the same night? Rudyard's, that's where! Located just off Waugh in the Montrose and amidst town homes and sketchy backstreets, its charm isn't manufactured or pre-packaged like all the other corporate ""pubs"" in town. Rudz is a product of its environment through and through, populated by our city's own indie musicians and artists. The beer menu is lively and always changing, so be sure to stop by frequently to taste some of the state's best micro-brews. Also, the bathroom wall graffiti is the best in town."" Houston Press ""Regulars love this old-line Montrose hangout for its premium beers on tap and its shambling, cozy feel. They also know that the menu of respectable pub grub features a cheeseburger of true artisan standards, with a fine handmade beef patty and meticulous fixings, right down to the griddled-on-both-sides bun. And live-music fans know that the bar's second level houses of the most consistently interesting live-music stages in Houston, presenting punk, rock, metal, indie, pop, and roots bands of both the local and touring variety."" 29-95.com
