Introduction
"Ronald H Hirata DMD, MS is a dentist and orthodontist that specializes in pediatric dentistry and orthodontics. These specialties complement each other very well since it is often beneficial to start orthodontic care early in children. With memberships in many prestigious dental associations, such as the American Association of Orthodontics, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Hawaii Dental Association, Dr. Hirata is dedicated to providing the best care possible for his patients. Since 1991, Dr. Hirata and his friendly staff have been providing excellent dental care for adults and children as young as 6 months old in and around Kailua-Kona.
Everyone deserves a beautiful, healthy smile, and Dr. Hirata is dedicated to helping each and every one of his patients get it. He’s experienced in many types of orthodontic treatment options and will work to correct various dental issues, including overbites, misaligned jaws, crooked teeth, and more. Dr. Hirata specializes in self-ligating braces. This treatment option is preferred over traditional braces because they do not have rubber bands and are smaller.
Proper dental hygiene is very important, especially for patients with braces. Dr. Hirata instructs each of his patients on the best ways to keep their teeth healthy and strong while they are going through their orthodontic treatment. Unlike most orthodontists, Dr. Hirtata will regularly remove all of the wires of a patient’s braces and thoroughly clean hard to reach spots. This helps protect enamel, prevent cavities, and maintain healthy gums.
Visiting the dentist can be a stressful experience, especially for young children. Dr. Hirata and his staff want each and every one of their patients to feel at ease. Instead of reprimanding patients that may not have the best brushing or flossing habits, they take the time to teach you why dental hygiene is so important and the easiest ways to keep your smile bright and healthy. Call the office of Ronald H Hirata DMD, MS at (808) 326-4001 to make an appointment today!"
