Introduction
Run mostly by a team of dedicated volunteers Radstock Museum celebrates the social and industrial history of the former Somerset Coalfield which stretched from Bishop Sutton in the west to Dunkerton in the east and from Pensford in the north to Coleford and Nettlebridge in the south. The Museum, which is housed in the town's former Market Hall, illustrates not only the home life of the mining families, but also the vibrant social, commercial and industrial structure of the district over the past two hundred years and also features the geology of the local area With a well stocked bookshop specialising in local history publications and a tearoom to copmplete your visit. Also temporary exhibitions are staged throughout the year on a wide range of subjects.
