Quark Scan is a small business providing underground utility locating, underground storage tank locating, concrete scan, ground penetration radar survey and other geophysical services for construction, environmental and engineering industries.

For underground utility locating or utility mark-out, our core value lies in our geophysics background. Contrary to many people's belief, usually utility mark-out is not simply tracing a line using a cable/pipe locator or pushing a ground penetrating radar around. Our in-depth understanding of underlying principles involving subsurface scanning enable us to not only choose the right tools, but also use the tools adaptively to the site condition. The in-depth understanding of geophysics principles, and the proper reasoning based on that, are important for a productive scanning, especially if a site has a rich subsurface infrastructure history. Utility mark-out is a job more for an analyst than for a technician.

Our core value also extends to other services we provide including concrete scanning, underground storage tank locating, etc. Every site is unique and even each day of the same site is unique. We think proactively and adaptively for productive scannings. We are not technicians just following routine protocols. With solid geophysics background and extensive hand-on experiences, we are working more like detectives and ready to be creative for new challenges everyday.
