Point Grey Eyecare

I had been wearing gas permeable rigid contact lenses for decades and finally accepted that I needed a pair of bi-focal or multi-focal rigid contact lenses, an inherently challenging thing to get right to say the least.

I checked around, making inquiries to various places, including a few that received overall very high rated reviews and have had many more reviewers on the Yelp. I eventually decided on Point Grey Eyecare for two simple reasons: (1) Dr. Ng, the optometrist, is experienced in fitting gas permeable lenses, even bifocal, and (2) Boris is the only other person working there (so I suspect I do not need to pay much overhead costs) who appears to be knowledgeable about eye glasses including their quality, selections, and costs, and who immediately gained my trust when I spoke with him, first over the phone and then in person at the store.

I was happy with my decision and it turned out that my first impressions above were right on. Dr. Ng ordered for me the contact lenses with the material that allows the highest oxygen to pass through (I did my research in advance so I knew what I would like to get and Dr. Ng ordered exactly that). The first pair did not meet my needs, so a second pair was ordered, which still did not work well enough for me. Additional modification had to be made. Finally, on our 3rd attempt, I finally have a pair that fits my vision needs. We started in late October and by the time we were both happy, it was already close to the Christmas. Throughout the whole process Dr. Ng was always patient, courteous, and professional. She is certainly very knowledgeable. It has been a pleasure to have Dr. Ng help me with my vision needs.

Boris is the optician and is also the owner of this business. He interacts with customers, make glasses, order materials, book appointments etc. Boris is direct, sincere, and can tell me exactly how much each kind of materials would cost. He even suggested that I use the frame of my old glasses to fit new lenses to cut cost when I was still contemplating a pair of eye glasses instead.

At Point Grey Eyecare, one gets the combination of quality care and services, as well as excellent prices (a pleasant surprise given where the store is located). Needless to say, I sent my wife there to get her prescription glasses and I know I will continue to recommend this place to others.
